Could Social Media Take Over from Search Engines?

You may have set up your Facebook and Twitter accounts, and occasionally post, when you have the time or have thought of something to say.

But your Social Media efforts deserve more than that. Not just to increase your sales and brand awareness from your marketing efforts here and now but for the future.

If your marketing strategy is not serious about Social Media then it’s time to change. Recent research shows that Social Media strategies are going to be just as important as your SEO (search) efforts.
Most people still use search engines (come on we all I know I just mean Google) to find what they are looking for. But, younger users (meaning your customers in a couple of years’ time) are increasingly discovering websites and products via Social Media.

A recent survey suggests that over half 18 to 24 year olds use Social Media as their ‘go to’ internet discovery means.

This could mean they are asking their friends where is best to shop for certain items or taking note of websites and pages that have been suggested by their friends and remembering them at a later date. Or simply using their Social Media's search bar as the look up tool, not Google.

Here at One Media Solutions we don’t think that Social Media has overtaken search just yet. However if you are not taking your Social Media pages as seriously as your website itself then you are going to lack behind.

It is apparent that internet user’s habits are changing and we all need to be making efforts for “tomorrow’s” sales, not just todays.

It also seems to us, there are just as many Social Media “Experts” as there are Social Media users. A good example of Social Media is not just gaining hundreds of likes or Twitter followers but unique fresh content and solid engagement with your following. Which we can help provide, because we're good like that.

One Media Solutions, being  a Social Media Agency can help you with not just your Social Media accounts but help aid your SEO efforts too.
