5 Top Tips to Increase Engagement on your Facebook Page.....

To increase engagement in your Facebook page try these simple top 5 tips……..

To continue from yesterday’s blog we’re sticking with everyone’s favourite social media platform, Facebook.

We are all aware of the power boost a strong Facebook page can give to a business, however not all of you have found it that easy to gain engagement.

Social Media is all about conversation so to increase engagement on your page, start a conversation with your fans.

1.       Ask Questions.

Asking questions, naturally, ignites dialogue. Posts which ask questions generate double the amount of comment rates than non-question posts.

2.       Fill In The Blank

One of the most engaging post techniques is one of the most under-used. Brands who use the fill in the blank strategy, e.g. I Love Reading One Media Solutions Blogs Because                               tend to receive NINE times higher engagement rates than any other post technique.

At the moment the only industry which is really using this technique is Retail, however we think most of you can apply this strategy in with your posts.

3.       Facebook Offers

When it comes to running an offer or promotion on your Facebook page keep it to the point and straightforward. Research has shown that the clearer the rules and what you win the more engagement your page will receive.

Offers which receive the most engagement included the following:

“To Get £10 off……..” or “Receive £10 off”

“Here is a £5 voucher………”

Keywords to focus on, are “£ off” and “voucher or coupon”.  Posts which contain these straight to the point rewards receive 55% more engagement than the average post containing the word “offer” or “offer time”.

Posts containing keywords such as “Sale” or “50% off” receive the lowest engagement interaction. So stick to the point and tell fans what monetary value they are getting from you.

4.       Vouchers

Pages which offer vouchers receive the best engagement and shares. When offering vouchers do not leave your fans having to do the brain work or work out what they’re saving. Again, keep it obvious, to the point and direct as to what they’re getting.

People prefer tangible cash discounts rather than being told what percentage they are saving. So let them know “£10 off with this voucher” NOT “Save 10% with this voucher”.

Better yet, have the voucher give them something for FREE e.g. “Free nail varnish with this voucher”. If you own a physical shop you can ask fans to redeem their voucher in store therefore increasing footfall in your premises.

5.       Keep It Simple

While it is important to keep your content interesting and encourage your fans to share research has found that simple posts work best.

The two most successful types of posts contain a single image or only use words.

Status only posts tend to receive as much as 95% higher engagement – wow!

Your Facebook page is a great tool to help you tell the world who you are and what you do and why you’re the best. Hopefully these 5 pointers will help you encourage engagement.
